TENTACLES brings together disabled writers of all genres in Nottingham to take part in a participatory programme. Led by Neal Pike and guest tutors, TENTACLES will provide support and inspiration for an open collective of writers of various disabilities through a year-long programme of workshops focusing on poetry and writing for performance.

The writers will create, command and coordinate their words, creative voices and careers through writing, performance and event production, in residency at Nottingham Playhouse and supported by Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature. The project will culminate with a performance and a publication, and the workshops and exercises will be made available online to all.

“Poetry has enabled me to communicate, given me the confidence to perform on stage, and allowed me to rationalise the thoughts in my head. Now I want to lead a network to enable others to benefit.” Neal Pike
