Rising/falling. Silent/loud. Steady/wobbly. Order/chaos. Mind/body. Able/unable.
One way or another [working title] is a new dance performance made from the perspective of a dyspraxic choreographer who feels their invisible difference does not sit easily in the simple dichotomy of able / disabled. This new work brings together a group of dyspraxic people in a choreography of movement, text and object that presents this hidden difference as strikingly visible. Through this choreographic language that is unique to the brain and body processes of dyspraxia, we see majesty in the qualities usually considered failures in dance: slipping, falling, wobbling, forgetting.
